  1. Here's what it would take for me to enjoy the Season Management part of this product: In the admin view: Scheduler should work exactly like League Athletics. Actual quote from the sales guy at a competing product "As far as I can tell, pretty much everyone was happy with the League Athletics scheduler. I'm not sure what NBC thinks they are doing killing it." This means recurring events (for practices). This means conflict checking between events and events or events and games, not just games and games. This means when I mark an event as "cancelled" or "postponed" it disappears from families' iCal feeds. Only "scheduled," "completed," and "in progress" should show up. This means blackout dates for fields on a field-by-field basis. This also means hours on a field-by-field basis. I sometimes have 3-4 fields at a given location with different hours permitted to me. I should be able to set this. The conflict checker needs to respect blackout dates and hours. There should be a visual indicator in the add event/add game view when you try to add something at a conflicting time (League Athletics used grey for non-available hours and red for conflict in the hours slot itself). Conflict checking should occur across seasons if the dates overlap. That way I can run our year-round teams in one "season" and our fall and spring teams in another "season" without worrying about double-booking a location. The "Sync Changes" button needs to die. Changes just get pushed to the website via code...that's the way the web works. Data integrity matters. I shouldn't have to wait minutes for "eventual consistency" in the data. If a coach publishes a score, the standings should update in near-real time. It shouldn't take forever or require me to re-score the game. On the web: When a division in a season has active (private or public) teams in it, then a part of your site - "Current Teams" or "Team Center" or something should auto-populate with that season, division, and the teams. The team pages if public should show a roster. There should be an option for making a team to have a private roster but public events and standings. This would affect the page, not the app (app I assume would have the same features). That division should show standings for the division, if enabled; stats, if enabled. Any team that is set to the right setting (whether private roster or not) should automatically have events and games on a master calendar that is actually your Calendar webpage set up by HQ. That means everyone can see the master calendar with no work from the webmaster. When a division/season no longer has active teams, the Team Center/Current Teams page doesn't show them any more. For coaches/families: Coaches need to be able to email their team the way that groups for teams worked under Sports Management RSVP reminders need to come back! My coaches hated not having this feature automatically and the manual reminders didn't always work. My bug reports on this were repeatedly ignored. Adding guardians/emails needs to consistently work. We had issues where coaches removed their own team admin permissions merely by adding their spouses as guardians to their kids (or teen kids as "guardians" for themselves). Why? How? And issues where adding guardians didn't always "take." And issues where coaches couldn't access contact information for a family to text them when that family had never downloaded the app. Basically team communication if anyone tried to use this system was a wreck. All app features need to come back for Season Management. Basically it should just be League Athletics with a modern look and feel. If they did that, without all the bugs, they'd have a solid product. And they need to make sure the things people who used Sports Management relied on still work. I've told them all this repeatedly. For the sake of anyone who is actually sticking around I hope they do it and stop introducing new bugs every time they make a change.
  2. I don't know that they have testers. If so, would all of us on BETA season management had to have paid to use a feature-lite, completely bug-ridden product for months on end while they broke new things with every release? I think not. Same with this app. A few people who have actually ever managed a league before using their software before they release it would be a very welcome change.
  3. I would dearly love to be able to pass parameters to the microsite. For example now that our first HQ season is ending, I want to create an "archive" page with old seasons linked. However I'd like to default the view to either "Season Start" or "In the Past" so those microsites don't auto-display as "You have nothing scheduled!" In addition we have division-level pages. I'd love to be able to have a microsite on each season page filtered to just that division. Right now, however, there are neither division level microsites nor a way to pass in filters to the microsite. As usual my real wish is that we didn't have microsites at all, but a true "Team Center" like Sports Management on HQ, League Athletics, Sports Connect, Crossbar, Team Sideline, and all the rest that shows pages that look like our regular webpage and include all the things the microsite includes (standings, scores, schedules, rosters, team information) integrated with our master calendar. But since they haven't given any indication of doing that, the above would be nice.
  4. @Angela Muellerwhile I'm sure there are organizations out there that will appreciate various integrations, League Athletics offered basically *all* of the things these various integrations offer...with built in cost. Now what I'm seeing is I can pay for Avario or Diamond Scheduler in order to make SportsEngine HQ have even close to what I used to have with League Athletics - and not nearly as neatly integrated with my site. On my old League Athletics site I can easily flip through prior teams and seasons and a decade of master schedules in a way that was fully integrated for users and admins. I can sign up for a paid MailChimp account in order to manage an email list the size of what I used to do with League Athletics (which was competely unconstrained in size or number of emails per month, unlike most email list systems). Yes, GameChanger and player evals weren't built in to League Athletics, so great I guess. But it's incredibly disheartening to realize that SportsEngine HQ's solution to offering features I expect is, "OK, go pay someone else more and some day we might integrate with them." We're a non-profit who tries to not charge families an excessive amount of money to play our sport. We don't exist to make NBCUniversal money.
  5. My guess (as a developer) is that they convert to UTC at one point, then forget to convert back later. It definitely feels like a time conversion bug of some sort!
  6. Yes, this. But be careful. There are times when a score inputted by coaches doesn't "count" for standings purposes (I assume somewhere in the code something barfs and the standings don't get recalculated). I've been going through as an admin daily and checking all of our games to look for new ones and make sure the standings reflect them. I've also, of course, reported the bugs that seem to contribute to this as I've seen them. The "sync" button for the microsite and the lack of team pages being created automatically when teams are moved from inactive are really annoying. I push that button multiple times daily.
  7. I found a solution - but it's annoying. Go back and edit the location or locations causing this bug (in our case it was just one location). Make a small tweak and save, make a tweak back and save again to make sure it really changes. Re-do every.single.event or game with that location so that they grab the copy of the fixed location since changes don't propegate through HQ's database. Voila - fixed...after potentially hours of work.
  8. Interestingly this one is not on the roadmap. @Marie Fitzgeralddo you know if this is planned? I know emailing from the app is, but the standings would be valuable too. Since the season microsite doesn't wrap team names in the standings view (which is highly annoying), it is nearly impossible to see standings on a mobile phone (even turning the phone sideways). I tried to show one of our families the standings a few weeks ago and couldn't.
  9. My commissioners actually liked the team construction/rostering functionality pretty well. I heard generally good feedback from them on that. Unfortunately as a webmaster you have to follow the workaround to make team pages and a master calendar, and if you have a large number of divisions and teams that's a lot of work: The issues appear with scheduling, scoring, standings, and stats - all things League Athletics did so incredibly well.
  10. I've done a pretty extensive market survey of options at this point and I'm convinced NBCUniversal is making a pretty big mistake sun-setting League Athletics without pulling all of it's functionality forward. Major, large competitors to League Athletics/SportsEngine HQ admit that the scheduling functionality in League Athletics "did just about what everyone wanted it to." Literally multiple sales guys have admitted that to me. I've used demo sites for a variety of other league administration platforms and none of them come close to what League Athletics had, though most of them aren't buggy at least. It's really sad. Not sure if Diamond Scheduler, which HQ plans to integrate with, will offer comparable functionality. Even if it does, Diamond Scheduler would be an extra cost. League Athletics was incredibly affordable.
  11. I don't believe this has been released yet, but it is on the roadmap. @Marie Fitzgerald is there an ETA for this functionality?
  12. The bolded is what I keep trying to communicate to HQ’s help desk and via the feedback and that they keep ignoring. My families and athletes don’t blame HQ for issues, they blame us for picking a bad platform or think we did something (or coaches blame themselves for doing something wrong!). Meanwhile we HQ admins can’t fix a thing and our coaches certainly aren’t responsible. It’s really hard as the admin. @Kelsey Erwin @Simon MacKenzie
  13. Our scheduler seems to be able to change games ok, though we had many many issues until about a month ago. We mark all games we need to move as Postponed, then change the time or whatever. I believe Firefox and Chrome are HQ’s officially supported browsers. Are you using one of those? We are still having issues with scores and standings being incorrect almost every day, so I am not surprised to hear other issues still exist. The unreliable nature of the standings is what freaks me out the most.
  14. To switch to Season Management I believe you contact your account manager. Same with getting the quickest response on a time-sensitive bug like this. I would carefully read this forum before determining that Season Management is right for your organization.
  15. I think there is a spot, but I've been doing it via Team Center or the My Sports Engine account on a computer because I find that easier. That still at least shows a list view. Our RSVP issues appear to have resolved. I think they were bugs with interactions between the app and Season Management.
  16. Do any of those chat timestamps occur in the future by any chance? I have reported a bug to the app developers with a screenshot showing that some of our chat messagess - it often seems to be from our teams' coaches for some reason - appear with a future timestamp. The notification won't go away until actual time where I am has caught up to whenever the future is. I think for me in the chats that are wrong are typically 4 hours in the future from whenever they are sent. Of course notifications may occur well after chats are sent, so sometimes the notification only shows for 3 hours or less.
  17. Thanks for the tip. I updated and it is fixed.
  18. Saw another, even weirder version of this today. A coach entered a score that the system ate, flipping it to blank and the game to "In Progress." I switched the game back to "Completed" in the Schedule view and the score showed up - flipped, with the wrong winner. Unfortunately a game between the same two teams in the future of our season also showed up as scored, with the correct score for the old game and the future game "In Progress." I had to work with the coaches to figure out which was the correct score, but when the home team tried to fix it, the fix didn't stick just as was described above. Instead I had to manually go score the game in Season Management to get the standings correct. Does anyone have a set of steps for their coaches to score on the app to work around the system's tendency to mess up scores? I'd prefer not to have to try and make time to track accurate standings across divisions, making sure no game scores get eaten or changed automagically.
  19. FYI, they will hopefully bring list view back.
  20. Pushed some scores to my microsite this afternoon, went to check them out and saw the new microsite view. It shows events! It's a little non-intuitive to go to the past, but it has an infinite scroll of the current things, which is nice. I still firmly believe they need to integrate the team views with the regular site - calendar on your actual calendar, team pages populated automatically (none of this "Copy a template, enable the copy, use it, unlink it, and make 3 changes 40 times if you have 40 teams" nonsense), but this is not nothing. Unfortunately the update broke the team view (and now I have to change my text for all my teams). It shows practices and the ONE closest upcoming game only, as opposed to all the games. That's SportsEngine HQ for you, I guess. Can never get an update without new bugs being added.
  21. Did this maybe refer to the microsite? Looks like OP's issue was with the Season -> Schedule view. The microsite is showing events as of this afternoon. I went to push a score/standings update and saw it. It's still got bugs, but that is apparently what happens with season management.
  22. More information plus another way of getting feed URLs can be found in this extensive guide
  23. All my team IDs have dashes in them. They are much longer than that. Are you sure you grabbed everything after ‘https://teams.sportngin.com/teams/’ exactly as written in the TeamCenter URL? When I click a valid feed it tries to add it to my calendar (phone or desktop email client). Also for each event aggregator I don’t have to add the feed. Since it is tagged to that page and the page has events enabled in the page options, it just shows up.
  24. This must not affect all users. I just added a test event to the end of our season and it showed up. Maybe there's some special case causing it?
  25. Huh? So if I add a new practice (ours out in already), I won’t see it?!
