  1. There is this video which might help: https://www.sportsengine.com/training-camp/hq/update-dns-records Unfortunately tons of links on the SportsEngine site are broken (including the (a) the first hit brought back by google when searching for "sportsengine custom url", and (b) the one referenced in the video), but the video does an okay job. I think I found what the updated link for the instructions should be, and that's here: https://help.sportsengine.com/en/articles/6304712-how-to-update-my-website-domain-nameserver-dns-or-cname-records We're still pre-live so I haven't cut ours over yet. That said, I assume the custom name will be used by the microsites, too, but I dunno as that looks like a different URI than the main website for our organization.
  2. I haven't sent stuff via Feedback, but I will. I'm always hopeful that I'm the problem - so using the Forums for vetting that first.
  3. And also just realized that the pagination results aren't deterministic. Pretend there are seven records and I'm only showing five per page (which I know is not an option, but for the sake of simplicity): On first display I might see Records: A, B, C, D, E, then on the second page: D, F (why D instead of G?) ... then if I go back to the first page I see A, B, C, E, G (why not the original D instead of G?). I should mention that I was assigning teams so maybe that had to do with why the resultset pages weren't determinisic?
  4. Has anyone else observed the following: The Search only appears to work if you're on the first page of results? If I'm on the first page of results I can search for anyone in the resultset (even those not on the first page); however, as soon as I go beyond the first page of results using the '>' then all Searches return a "No People Found" message And this behavior is consistent regardless of whether I have 25/50/100 set for the number of rows to display per page The data in the 'People' table is inconsistent with the Registration data. For example, I have a Basketball Registration currently open and there are 120 Entries where the 'Entry Status' is 'Active' - when I apply that Filter in the 'Rostering' > 'People' widget I get 120 records which is good; however: 22 of the records are missing the DOB and the Gender shows as 'Unspecified' (even though both are present in the Entry in the Registration). In fact, the 22 display that way even before I add the 'Entry Status' Filter. If I add on a Gender filter, when ... ... only Male is checked I get 57 People (all show as Male) ... only Female is checked I get 41 People (all show as Female) ... both Male and Female are checked I get 120 People and the 22 people that didn't show up in either of the previous resultsets are those from above where the DOB is blank and Gender is 'Unspecified' ... both Male and Unspecified are checked I get 120 People (some of which are Female) ... both Female and Unspecified are checked I get 120 People (some of which are Male) ... only Unspecified is checked I get 0 People (which is inconsistent with what shows in the table, but consistent with the Registration data) ... all three of Male, Female and Unspecified are checked I get 120 People So somehow there are 22 people who are neither Male, nor Female, nor Unspecified ... but show up when I check at least two Gender boxes? It's like the logic on the Gender Filter says something like, "if at least two Genders are checked then return all results." No theory as to why the data's not consistent between the Registration and Season.
  5. Just to confirm, the 'Sync' is per event? It doesn't just sync everything when you hit it? Does it at least tell you what's synced and what's not? I haven't gotten into scheduling yet (that's on-deck for this week, actually).
  6. As a note, for a Youth League the age isn't as important as the Grade as many Registrations are eligible by-grade. It would be great if SE (a) captured Grade as part of the Core data, and then (b) automatically incremented it as of some date during the year. I know you can say, "Copy this from previous registrations," but that would be bad for Grade since a player isn't in a given grade forever, thus copying it only increases the risk that it's incorrect on future Registrations.
  7. If I had to guess the Registration Form was built off an existing point-of-sale system, hence the need to attach Sale Items to options from the Form. I expect someone said, "Hey, we have this point-of-sale system that's super-easy to configure so it must be the perfect bedrock for a League Administration platform. How hard could it be to build the rest?" I expect they're building everything else from the ground up in a mad scramble as they didn't realize what they bit off.
  8. Right, it's there in Season Management. For others who arrive at this thread, there's a filter icon and you can add the 'Entry Status = Active' criteria via 'Advanced Filters' once the dialogue pops (see below). Then you can check the box at the bottom to "Save Filters" and I think that will make it the default view for the next time you come in to that Season's Roster view. I don't know if that makes it the default for everyone, or just for the current user. I'd have to ask another HQ user, or create a second HQ account for myself to know the answer to that question. The 'Create a second account' may sound like a joke, but it is something I'm entertaining so that I can send emails 'from' my league email address as opposed to my personal one. And truth-be-told I'm okay with that since LA allowing you to specify a 'From Address' was kosher at one time, but not really by modern standards: And the aforementioned 'Filter Icon' is this:
  9. Per the FAQs if you use online payments you cannot delete the Registration. We've also raised that this doesn't really make sense at all as it's going to be confusing in a bunch of ways down-the-line: https://help.sportsengine.com/en/articles/6323296-registration-faq
  10. I bounced out of the survey this time, too, @Angela Mueller. I got lost again on the 9 Questions of 'What integrations do I want most?' / 'What integrations do I want least?' especially with no option to say, "I don't recognize these." The first questions in the survey were more general and spoke to the features I need - coming from LA I didn't need to worry about any kind of vendor so I didn't really recognize any of the options listed (sans 'Constant Contact' which is a household name).
  11. Right, and if SE advertises itself as a League Management Platform then as the admin/operator I expect that fundamental needs - like communicating with my registrants, having a schedule and rankings, etc. - come with the platform as opposed to needing to be purchased as a la carte add-ons. A reminder, this is what's on your main page: Not:
  12. Feels like someone added logic to use local time and compare it to whatever time is there on the server without any kind of conversion to UTC. If you're in CA it's 2:00pm, but if the server is in NY then it's 5:00pm there. So the app on the phone in CA thinks it's futuristic. Just a theory from a one-time developer. If it's more than a few hours in advance then probably not the issue, though.
  13. I mean, it's not even close. As dated as LA's design was it was a site built for League management and it did it really really well. And while I don't have first-hand knowledge of some of the areas since we're still in our first Registration period, it seems like we're only in for frustration ahead as we try to construct a Season/Teams.
  14. We only came onto SE in the past month or so, but are already looking for a new platform for the Spring. Many of the Leagues nearby who had to switch from LA are in the same boat, that they are thinking SE isn't a good fit for a league management.
  15. This was me, too. I got into the survey and the didn't recognize any of the Products mentioned or what I could be using them for so just bounced.
  16. But with this approach you'll need to create a separate Discount for each Registration, right? That seems heavy-handed compared to having two fields on the Registration config ... one for Late Fee Start Date and one for Late Fee Amount, especially when Open Date and Close Date are already there on the Registration config page.
