atommyb Posted November 5 Posted November 5 Today, we have no reasonable way to allow new members to register online with your software (Team Unify, or SE Motion as it's now called?). When I say "reasonable", I refer to the "checkout" process which is applied to all registrations. When a class or other item has no cost associated with it, why is there even the concept of a "checkout"? It is a really confusing and misleading process and most prospective members / leads / prospects are put off by the impression that they will need to pay for something before they come for a free trial. Our UK club doesn't even have the payments / finance modules enabled, so the whole concept around "checkout" isn't perfect. If we encourage our prospective members to follow the "checkout", they are sent to a login page (not an account creation page) for SportsEngine. Admittedly this page has a tiny link to "create account" , but it is not the correct page to send users to within this journey. We have had to create and provide a PDF walkthrough guide to assist customers in completing this process!! Almost all failed to understand they were "logging in", not creating an account. IF they manage to get through these hoops, they then eventually get to the payment step where there is no way to mark the class as actually "free" and not imply there will be a payment due. There is the option to "accept cash" - but we are forced to supply details of who the cash should be given to - which confuses customers even further. The action button also still reads "Pay now", even when there is nothing to pay for and the "basket" shows as zero. At the moment, we are unable to use this process as it's just crazy hard for new members to understand. We've resorted to using a Google Form to collect the information we need for the customers and then asking one of our volunteer members to spend hours every week manually copying and pasting these details into the Sports Engine / Team Unify web interface. Suffice to say, this is inefficient and causes some GDPR concerns around duplication and manual copying of personal information. In an ideal world, the prospective member would be able to be taken directly to a "Create account" page, which would just create them a Sports Engine account, attach it to our club and mark them as a "lead". I would be more than happy to expand on this should anyone read this 😅
