  1. Hi BaseballGuy There is currently no way to send a formal invite to automatically become a "fan" of a team, but we do provide a way to share a direct link to any team set to "public" status. This will allow Grandma/Grandpa to click directly to the correct team with no need to search. They will need to tap on the star to add it to their favorites list, however. The "Share Team" icon is in the top right corner of the team page right next to the favorite star for teams set to public status. After tapping the share icon you'll be presented with options for how to share - copy/paste the link, share via text message etc...
  2. RSVPs are included in SportsEngine mobile app at no extra charge for coaches/team managers. They are paid features in TeamSnap
  3. Currently, there is not a notification that is sent to the coach when a parent/athlete individually responds. They can look in real time in the app. They will also receive an email update 48 hours ahead of the event with a summary of all responses.
  4. Ben, good question. They would need to pay each individually.
  5. Good Question. Each parent creates an account which has profiles connected to it. Think of how Netlfix sets up their profiles. Each account then has a profile for the parent "Self Profile" and one for each of their kids. Your registration can be set to allow for "Self" profiles to be registered (ie. the registrant is registering themselves like a coach registration) AND/OR "Other" profiles which means that the account can register any of the profiles in their account (ie. a program registration where parents are registering kids). Here's the selector in the Registration
  6. You should reach out to customer support team. Not sure why you are unable to do that and they could help you.
  7. Hey mikekaz, What you can do is send people to https://app.sportngin.com/user/profiles which should prompt them to login and change/update any "profile" info they have (address, phone, email etc). Phone numbers on a profile are standardized with the (XXX) XXX-XXXX format. Probably easier than having them go through their registration to find it. Now, if they need to update any info you collected in the registration that isn't a part of their profile, they'll need to go to the registration to do that.
  8. When you type in a facility location, the app will suggest results from Google which when selected, will provide map/direction functionality. If you want to add further info (like field or rink number etc) You can add that in the Location Detail field.
  9. Here's the quick answer. Your smart group was created in the legacy registration reporting area. While HQ recognizes and appreciates the filters of that smart group, it doesn't (not sure why) display or edit the filters. I went and created a smart group directly in HQ with the same filter applied and it now shows up.
  10. Can you send me a DM with a link to your Smart Group. Mine looks different, but I want to try and figure out why.
  11. FWIW, not turned on as a standard feature option due to the fact that those who enter code in to it can cause issues with other things. Those who know what they are doing (do not include me in that category) are comfortable trying things out and fixing on their own what they "break".
  12. Had no idea. Nice to see you back, Mark. Hope all is well.
  13. MikeKaz, you bring up awesome points and as we continue to build out our team features we often discuss the "older reponsible kid" and the need to have them be the ones interacting. With that said, we do have a bias towards safety. We believe that parents should be copied on communications to athletes. That's the way it's designed today. One way I look at it, is first.... who is the financially responsible person? That should be the account owner, and the athlete a profile under that account. If you want the athlete to RSVP and Chat etc, have them create an account and add them as a guardian. Now, that doesn't necessarily create the experience you are looking for, and I imagine we'll continue to work out use cases and put together features to meet what you're doing. Thanks for being a part of the Community!
  14. Ugh, not ideal. As a coach, I may or may not have lost my mind. Let me ask the group here a few options: First, we plan on implementing a "1:1 chat" in addition to the full team chat. So keep that in mind. 1) Do you think we should have the "Email Team and Staff" option only available to coaches/managers? 2) Should we disable the ability for parents to individually send emails altogether? If yes, should we wait until the "1:1 chat" feature first?
  15. Over the past year or so, we’ve released quite a few features in the mobile app which has greatly improved how teams communicate and interact. This has driven millions (yes millions) of new users to the app and raised questions about how to properly set up accounts to be able to use these features. I’m going to outline common use cases and how to solve them in the SportsEngine account set up. First, you need to understand that relationship between accounts and profiles. If you’re a Netflix user, you’ll probably recognize the set up. Accounts: An account is generally created by a parent. You use an email address to create the account and it’s how you log in to SportsEngine both on the web and in the mobile app. You manage your profiles (more on that in a minute), preference settings, access your calendars, and everything else you do with SportsEngine. Profiles: Think of these as “people”. Each account has its own profile (you’ll sometimes see it referred to as a “self profile”) which has your information for when you are signing yourself up for something (as a coach, volunteer, manager, or as an athlete yourself). Accounts also create and manage profiles for each athlete/child. These profiles are used when you register a kid for your local club season or program and also are tied to teams when you get placed on a team. Guardians: For each profile in your account, you’re considered a “Guardian”. This relationship gives you the ability to create and receive messages for that athlete’s team, respond to RSVPs, participate in chat and anything else connected to your athlete’s team. As the Guardian, you can also connect other accounts to be guardians to your athletes. This allows multiple parents to receive messages, respond to RSVPS, and participate in chat. Now that we have all of that established. Here are common questions that come up and what you need to do to solve your challenges. How do I add guardians to an athlete profile? You can add these in the mobile app, or on the web. You’ll just need an email address for the person you’re adding as a guardian. If they don’t have a SportsEngine account set up yet, they will be prompted to do so. Article: My son/daughter is older and I want them to get messages from coach. How do I do that? You’ll need to go add their email address and phone number in their profile. Don’t forget though, that you may need to opt them in via your account settings to receive text notifications of new messages. Article: I’d like my son/daughter to respond to their own RSVPs, how do I give them that ability? In order to do this, they will need to be set up as a guardian on their own profile. You’ll add it the same way you would a spouse or other guardian. Article: As a coach, I need to help my parents get set up as a guardian. Can I do that? How can I tell who are guardians for each kid? Yep, as a coach you can do that for any athlete on your roster. Article: A trick to seeing all your guardians is to print out the contact list in your TeamCenter. Use the SE “My Organizations” switcher to go to your team’s TeamCenter, click on the Roster tab, and click to “Print Contact List”. It shows all guardians for your athletes. (Note, if you just need to see guardians for a single athlete, you can do that in the mobile app via your roster) I am not receiving messages as texts, how do I do that? You’ll need to make sure you’ve opted in to receive texts. That goes beyond just adding your cell phone number (although you need to do that to). Article: I am still receiving messages for a team I am no longer a part of, how do I make it stop? In a similar fashion to opting in to text messages, you can opt out. Article: I have multiple profiles for the same kid, can I combine them? This is something that does come up for parents. They can merge profiles, under their account, that have been created over the years. Article: On the “Teams” list in the mobile app, I see “My Team”, “Admin” and “Fan” what’s the difference between those? My Team: Generally speaking, you’ll see this if you are the guardian of an athlete who is rostered on the team. Admin: If you are a coach or team manager who has been assigned the admin permissions. Fan: You simply favorited or followed the team but are not officially connected (through SportsEngine) to any athlete on the roster. I’m listed as a “Fan” in the mobile app but am a parent…. Shouldn’t it say “My Team”? If you’re the parent/guardian of an athlete on the roster, but see the team has a “Fan” tag next to it, it probably means you aren’t set up as a guardian of the athlete on the roster. There’s a number of ways this can happen, but almost always is due to the fact that a parent may have multiple profiles for the athlete and guardians weren’t set up correctly. To solve, talk to the parent who registered the athlete for the program to add the fan parent as a guardian, or, as a coach, help them set it up via the roster. See above for links. 16. See the above post. You can put into the Page Title. Disclaimer above.
  17. You can use the @import css function to upload external stylesheets that will process pages globally, on load. You can do this through the head code - or inject your CSS for the external style sheet call within your Admin Control Panel > Website Setting > Theme Settings > Logo > Title That title has a limit to the number of characters (255 maybe?) so it should be used in a restricted manner for an import like this. DISCLAIMER: the sportsengine support team doesn't support css issues/troubleshooting. So, be careful and test on a sample page before you apply your import 'globally'.
  18. I tried using that code using customDivider in the Custom CSS Class and had issues as well. However, when adding the hr back into the code, all worked well. <style> .customDivider hr { border: 0; height: 0; border-style: solid; border-color: black; border-width: 1px 0 0 0; } </style> Hopefully that works for you as well. - Loren
  19. Alternatively, you can use the "Custom CSS Class" within the divider element. If you were to define that class name as "customDivider" for example, your head code would look something like this: <style> .customDivider { border: 0; height: 0; border-style: solid; border-color: black; border-width: 1px 0 0 0; } </style>
  20. Trying adding this code to your page, either as a code element or by putting it in your head code. You can make tweaks to this (like changing the hover font color and other hover styles) as you wish. (Thanks to Nick Burggraf for his work on this). <style> .contentTabs li span { background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: bottom left; text-decoration: none; display: block; border-style: solid; border-width: 1px .5px 0px .5px; border-top-left-radius: 5px; border-top-right-radius: 5px; background: linear-gradient(white,#959595); } .contentTabs li:hover, .contentTabs li.selected { background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: bottom left; text-decoration: none; display: block; border-style: solid; border-width: 1px .5px 0px .5px; border-top-left-radius: 5px; border-top-right-radius: 5px; background: linear-gradient(white,#959595); } .contentTabs li span a:hover{ color:yellow; } </style>
  21. Hi Peter, I've found the design of most any page element can be changed. So, yes, you most likely could make your tabs look they way you show in the photo. However, this is also above my coding skill grade. Hopefully, someone here would have a suggestion on how to make this work or, even better, offer up the code you are looking for and how to install it. As for the default view, couldn't you just slide your current week game results up into the first tab position so it becomes the default view? - Loren
  22. Smart Groups are great to use. You set up a filter and the Smart Group changes at any given time based on people matching those filters. But, one annoyance has been that if you ever want to make a small tweak to the filters, you'd have to create a new Smart Group. Not the biggest deal, but something we wanted to change. Now, you can edit the filters in your Smart Group. Here's a few photos to show the process. You'll go into the Smart Group, Group Details, and then click the pencil to edit.
  23. The code is a bit different with each SportsEngine theme, so I think this slightly tweaked code should get that first column header centered for you: <style>.dataTable th:first-child { text-align: center; } </style>
  24. Make sure you are out of Edit mode and in User mode when you test the style changes, as they will only appear in User mode. If that's not the issue, send me a screen shot of the table you are working on and the code you are using. Also, let me know where you are placing the code (you are using Code page element or Edit Head Code option). - Loren
