Because of that you can insert them using the code page element. Why would you want to do that? Well it allows you to create interactive SVG image. As an example, I've included the code for an SVG below which is download graphics with embedded links to the SportsEngine mobile apps. Just copy the code and insert it into the code element. Now, you will have a graphic appear in user mode that links to two different locations. This is a very simple use of this, but there are lots of other potential uses such as create an interactive SVG map, rollover affects all within a tool like Adobe Illustrator.
