Former Sport Ngin Webmaster of the Week Corey Hegwood and Sport Ngin Community feature article subject Frank Will were among the more than 40 Dallas/Fort Worth-area youth sports webmasters, coaches, registrars, treasurers and board members who attended the Sport Ngin User Group event on Wednesday, Dec. 9 in Grapevine, Texas.
Hegwood, who manages the Dallas/Fort Worth Elite Basketball site, is the first of several Dallas/Fort Worth (six in all so far) webmasters to be recognized for their work using the Sport Ngin platform. Will, who was featured in a Showcase article for his innovative work using Sport Ngin’s Registration system, is the webmaster for Liverpool FC America.
The event, held at Winewood Grill, also included representatives from Dallas Stars Elite Hockey, Ethiopian Sports Federation in North America, Texas Elite 7 on 7, Carrollton-Farmers Branch Soccer Association, Celina Parks and Recreation, Corsicana Softball, Texas Blackhawks and Dallas United Crew, among other organizations.
The event was hosted by Sport Ngin Community Manager Loren Nelson and included regional manager Brett MacKinnon, sales representative Lonnie Welsh, account manager Justin Magill and customer support representative Tracey Brown.
Nelson showed the work of the Dallas/Fort Worth webmasters who have received Webmaster of the Week honors and gave a brief overview of the Sport Ngin Community website. MacKinnon talked about Sport Ngin’s history and a look into the company’s future. Welsh and Magill gave demonstrations of the new team messaging and management tools as well as the new mobile responsive design themes. Brown shared the multiple ways the support team helps clients and listed the numerous ways (phone, email, live chat) support representatives can be reached.
Will’s presentation included a look into the multiple ways Liverpool FC uses Registration, and he showed how he creates flexibility in pricing by using discount codes. Hegwood talked about the success DFW Elite Basketball has had using Sport Ngin’s Dibs volunteer management system and showed the site’s Alumni page that lists the hundreds of former players who have gone on to Division I college programs.
