Sport Ngin will have strong representation at Associated Press Sports Editors regional meeting in Minneapolis
Sport Ngin co-founder Carson Kipfer will serve as a panelist during the Associated Press Sports Editors Great Lakes Region meeting on Monday, May 4 at the University of Minnesota.
Kipfer will be joined by Minnesota Public Radio’s Senior Editor for Visual News Regina McCombs, Star Tribune Deputy Sports Editor Chris Carr and Star Tribune photographer David Joles as leaders of a discussion titled, “The Power of Visuals: Where does great design and photography fit in our increasingly digital age?”
The free event will include a series of discussions on a variety of sports journalism and media topics for an audience of editors, reporters and students.
Sport Ngin National Media Editor and Community Manager Loren Nelson, the APSE Great Lakes Region Chair, will moderate several sessions and sit in as a panelist for the workshop titled, “Skills You Can Use: Hands-on digital training from how to create a GIF to how use free tools to build timelines, tables, charts and other useful page elements.”
Nelson, a longtime APSE member, will demonstrate how to build and post a timeline using the free, interactive timeline tool TimelineJS.
Associated Press Sports Editors is a national organization that strives to improve professional standards for sports departments of professional news organizations and to recognize professional excellence among its membership.
