Bryan Barnes, Derek Ricke and Lindsay Youngdahl served on the Webmaster Panel for SNUG Minneapolis.

Bryan Barnes of Minneapolis Youth Baseball, Derek Ricke of Minnesota Hockey and Lindsay Youngdahl of The Blake School were the featured speakers among the group of youth sports webmasters, coaches, registrars, treasurers and board members who attended the Sport Ngin User Group event on May 25 at Sport Ngin headquarters in Minneapolis.

Barnes, Ricke and Youngdahl, all previously honored as Sport Ngin Webmasters of the Week, were the featured speakers, sharing their experiences and insights as members of the night’s Webmaster Panel.

Barnes, who also serves as the webmaster for the Minneapolis Roosevelt High School athletics site, talked about how he tries to make his sites as user friendly as possible through pages such as Parent’s Primer and Coaches Corner on the Minneapolis Youth Baseball Association site.

Ricke, the Sport Ngin Community’s first Webmaster of the Week honoree, talked about the importance of providing instructional information for coaches and schedule and score information for players and parents.

Youngdahl, a Blake alum who works as assistant athletic director, showed how she lists alumni who are playing in college by using the custom code in the Table Builder page element. She also talked about how she set up the school’s athletics “Sideline Store.”

The event also included representatives from the Minnesota Archers Alliance, Bloomington Youth Soccer, Woodbury Athletics, Forest Lake Lakers Hockey, Northwest Kickers, Sartell Area Youth Baseball, Andover Traveling Basketball, Edina Lacrosse, the Showcase Hockey League and South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association among numerous other organizations.

SNUG Minneapolis was hosted by Sport Ngin community manager Loren Nelson and included presentations from territory manager Brian Bonin, account manager Paul Loeffler, product marketing manager Rob Bedeaux and product manager Casey Kipfer. Loeffler gave a brief overview of Sport Ngin, and Nelson talked about some of the features and resources available on the Sport Ngin Community website.

Bonin talked about Sport Ngin’s five main areas of focus (risk management, communications, competition, promotion and financial management) in the coming year. Kipfer gave a presentation on PowerPay, Sport Ngin’s newest products. Bedeaux talked about team messaging in team center, mobile responsive Sitebuilder templates, integration partners and other new products and features.
