Top webmasters share their tips for managing and promoting content
Renee Buchanan Tribe of the Greater Utah Lacrosse League and Bill Bant of the Southern California Municipal Athletic Federation were among the more than 30 youth sports webmasters, coaches, registrars, schedulers, treasurers and board members who attended the Sport Ngin User Group event on a rainy Feb. 17 in Anaheim, California.
Both Tribe and Bant, previously featured as Sport Ngin Webmasters of the Week, spoke to the group about their work using the platform. Tribe, GULL’s co-founder, webmaster and registrar, talked about how she communicates registration information, both on the website and through email blasts, using custom graphics and call-to-action buttons. She also explained how she created an equipment page that shows the different types of equipment, depending on gender and position, required to play the sport.
Bant, SCMAF’s marketing and communications coordinator, talked about how he created and organized some of the historical content on the SCMAF site. He also explained how his organization is making Sport Ngin’s Verify background screening product available to SCMAF members.
The event, held at The Catch, also included former Webmaster of the Week Devin Ishida of the Ice Angeles Hockey League. Showcase article feature subject Rob Powers of Eastvale Little League talked about his work using Diamond Scheduler to set up his league's season schedule.
Representatives from HB Sand Soccer, Irvine Slammers FC, Kassirer Sports, Norco Jr. All American Football & Cheer, the Pico Boys Baseball League, Strikers FC – Mission Viejo, among other organizations, also were in attendance.
The event was hosted by Sport Ngin community manager Loren Nelson and included regional manager Ryan Hanson, sales representative Ryan McIntosh, account manager Adam Nelson, product marketing manager Rob Bedeaux and vice president, soccer John Weinerth.
Loren Nelson gave a brief overview of Sport Ngin and talked about some of the features and resources available on the Sport Ngin Community website. Hanson talked about Sport Ngin’s five main areas of focus in the coming year. Bedeaux gave a presentation on some of Sport Ngin’s newest and most popular products, including Registration, team messaging and mobile responsive Sitebuilder templates. Adam Nelson gave an overview of the onboarding process, from the help available through support to the role of Sport Ngin’s account managers.
