Tyler Vieira brings multiple organizations together with Youth Baseball Network
Vieira’s father and uncle both played baseball at Fairhaven High School in southern Massachusetts, as did Tyler before heading off to the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. Vieira played amateur baseball in the Cranberry League after college but, with student loans coming due, he joined the corporate world in 2010 in sales and promotional roles. One of Vieira’s first jobs was at Rod Carew Baseball, where he was the content manager for the company's website. Vieira said he and his uncle, Gil, had talked for years about creating a national youth baseball site. With Gil creating much of the content, Tyler has been in charge of setting up the design and navigation of the Youth Baseball Network, which launched in February.
After overseeing the initial design of YBN, Vieira’s next big project was setting up the Championship section on the site. Vieira set up the Championship home page with a news aggregator, links to pages with information on how to become a sponsor, how to submit a story, how to list camps and clinics and a travel center page for teams heading to the national championship. Vieira also created custom landing pages for each of the five organizations that sent youth teams to the YBN National Championship Aug. 19-22 in Branson, Missouri. Those pages included a news aggregator, schedule information, a photo gallery, a tournament bracket and links to the organization’s social media accounts.
Vieira set up the Sponsors section on the site that includes pages for Official Products, National Sponsors and Branson Sponsors. Each page has the logo and a brief description of the sponsor and its relationship with YBN.
